Ubication is an exploration of Bluetooth proximity through signal strength, turned into a live three-dimensional visualisation in the browser. The name points to the quiet idea of sensing where things are simply by being near them, an attempt to make the invisible radio field around everyday devices feel present and spatial.

Readings from nearby Bluetooth devices are mapped in real time to the scale, position and motion of virtual objects, so the scene responds as phones and other devices move closer or farther away. The experience is less about precise measurement and more about giving presence a tangible, visual form that can be watched and felt.

It began as a series of small experiments that grew from tracking a single device to following several at once, testing ways to filter noisy signals and discovering visual languages that could communicate distance at a glance. The work is an exploration of multiple prototypes for presence-aware spaces and interactive installations that react when someone walks near.
